FlickScreen

Always Available

FlickScreen makes uploading screenshots to Flickr as simple as taking screenshots on your mac now. While FlickScreen is running it lives in your menu bar and is always available to you regardless of what you are working on. You can capture and upload by selecting an option from the FlickScreen menu or by invoking it from your keyboard. Before you upload you have the opportunity to set the title, description and tags for your screenshot so that no further editing is necessary.

What the heck is CommentWare?

You haven’t heard of it? Thats surprising since I just invented it. Basically, I would love constructive and honest comments/opinions regarding the photos on my Flickr account. I find I learn more and get new photographic ideas when I have outside opinions. So thats the deal, download FlickScreen and stop by my Flickr page and take a look. If you see something you like or think could use some feedback, fire away!

Donations

If you find FlickScreen valuable please consider donating a couple bucks by clicking the donate button above, near the download link. I’d love to continue to support FlickScreen and this makes it all possible.  In addition, I’m interested in the possibility of selling photos or having them up in public spaces. Since photography is a hobby of mine (and an expensive one at that) I would love to fund the habit, so to speak, by selling my work. If you are dying to purchase a print or have an opportunity for me to display my work in the Seattle area, please drop me an email.

Inspiration

FlickScreen was inspired by my designer friend Matthew Smith who maintains a website focusing on User-Interface design. He wanted to easily upload screenshots to Flickr. When applescript didn’t quite cut it, he turned to his Cocoa coding buddy to create a Mac OS X app. If you are interested in discussing User-Interface design, I recommend you check out his site, www.squaredeye.com.

If you are interested in Aperture plug-ins, check out Übermind, Inc. I’ve been working for them designing various flavors of export plug-ins.
